60 Seconds with Emma Cathie, Designer at Dog
We caught up with Emma to see what it’s like being a Designer at Dog
How long have you worked at Dog?
Just over 10 months now, although it does feel like much longer – in a good way of course!
What range of clients do you typically work on?
A bit of everything! As a designer, I work with all kinds of clients—from energy to drinks brands—which is one of the things I love about the job. I get to dive into different industries and learn what makes them tick. Feels like it should make me a pub quiz pro... it absolutely does not!
What’s the most memorable project you’ve worked on at Dog?
Not exactly a project, but I’d say making the jump from Adobe XD to Figma as a creative team. It’s been really interesting to almost start from scratch, learning a new tool and figuring it out together. A great lesson in how adaptable we need to be as creatives! Honourable mention has to go to the recent re-design of the Edinburgh Tattoo Ticketing website – launching soon. It's probably been my most challenging web design project to date, but I've learned a lot from the Dog Design, Development and UX teams involved.
Finally, if your job had a theme tune, what would it be? And why?
Had to dig deep into my Spotify archives for this one! Bloc Party – Flux. Design is always evolving, and we’re constantly adapting to new trends, tools, and deadlines.
