As Group Account Director you will act as the agency lead across a portfolio of clients. Crucially, the Client Group Head will take ownership of the client P&L and work under the strategic direction of the Commercial Director to deliver this.

As Group Account Director you will act as the agency lead across a portfolio of clients. Crucially, the Client Group Head will take ownership of the client P&L and work under the strategic direction of the Commercial Director to deliver this.


The Group Account Director will play a key role in building and cultivating relationships and opportunities within existing accounts as well as selling new service offerings and solutions.


You will also be responsible for managing the business growth of the client accounts in focus and will need to have essential knowledge of the digital marketing industry and understand emerging trends and technologies in order to advise clients.


You will oversee team utilisation and project allocation – demonstrating your ability to understand team utilisation and project allocation, and their relationship to overall client profitability.


Thinking strategically – you will make sound business decisions that balance competing priorities, whilst inspiring creativity & innovation. Above all you will drives results – achieving high levels of customer satisfaction, focus on team work and delivering above and beyond expectations at all times.


Key Responsibilities

There are four pillars of competency expected within this role; Leadership, Knowledge, Networking & Business Development, Professionalism.


Leadership - Client

  1.  Forge first class relationships with key clients and seek to secure a partnership status
  2. Position the agency with clients as a critical partner for their business and leverage their relationship to unlock further commercial opportunities
  3. Manage internal resources and client communications to ensure that client expectations are met. This includes, but is not limited to, thoroughly interrogating the brief, engaging the support of the Planning Team when required and leading conversations with clients
  4. Proactively identify cross-sell opportunities and work together with the Planning team to unlock new revenue streams
  5. Manage profitability of clients


Leadership - Team

  1. Be an inspirational individual who can motivate the Client Services Team and lead by example. They must guide their direct reports on how to develop client relationships and provide recommendations how to response to critical briefs
  2. Have the manner and ability to manage the workflow of the team and ensure exceptional client service at all times
  3. Motivate their direct reports and support their career aspirations through the development of challenging and interesting L&D plan



  1. It is essential you have, and demonstrate, a depth of knowledge across the Dog products and service proposition
  2. Keep informed of developments in the digital market place and be able to speak to clients knowledgably and confidently about existing, new and emerging trends
  3. We deliver for clients across print, offline media purchase, TV production etc. therefore working across these channels is expected


Business Development & Networking

  1. You are expected to play an active/lead role in new business acquisition
  2. Depending on the nature of the opportunity pitch requirements,you will be required to attend pitches, chemistry sessions and actively lead client communications throughout the pitch process
  3. You will play a critical role in on boarding new clients and transitioning them into the agency


The role has been created to support a strategic change in Dog’s leadership and Growth Strategy. This is a senior position that will act as a vital support to the Commercial Director in achieving Dog’s Growth targets
