Dog is looking for a talented and enthusiastic middleweight or senior web developer to join our technical practice which is based in Glasgow. This role allows for hybrid remote work and reports directly to our Head of Development.
You won't be restricted to just front-end or back-end development work -- a jack of all trades will do well on our team. You will have the opportunity to participate in the full life cycle of a project, including solution design, estimation, build/QA, launch and support. You will collaborate with other developers, testers, designers, project managers, and customers regularly, so a client service orientation is essential. We often work on multiple projects at once, so we expect you to learn quickly and retain domain knowledge.
Here are some of the technologies we use:
- HTML and CSS/Sass - semantic, responsive, accessible, etc.
- CMS platforms: Umbraco and Sitecore
- eCommerce platforms: Ucommerce and Shopify
- Razor and Liquid for theme/template development
- Microsoft technologies including C#, ASP.NET MVC, and TSQL
- Azure and Netlify for hosting
Candidates must have experience translating functional, business and design requirements into performant, easy-to-understand code which works across all modern browsers and platforms and conforms to established coding standards and best practices. Ideally, candidates will also have prior experience with design systems (or some form of pattern/code library for easy reuse), content management system (CMS) implementations, REST API integrations, accessibility conformance and remediation, security best practices, and bespoke software/database development.
In addition to technical qualifications, we’re looking for someone who ensures the quality and accuracy of their work, demonstrates commitment to getting the job done, assists and coaches others, and communicates proactively.
