ScottishPower

The start of the journey.

After winning the contract to overhaul the ScottishPower retail site back in 2006 we've been involved in a number of digital tasks for the company, from search and social media, to design, development, consulting and award-winning search campaigns.

Where did ScottishPower want to go?
With the main ScottishPower website, we wanted to break down barriers for ScottishPower customers, allowing them better access to the company's key services and information while improving the functionality of ScottishPower's online shop.

How we got there together.
First off, we created a floating light box on the homepage. Users were asked whether they were new or existing customers and content was then tailored to suit their needs.

Website navigation centred around Your Home, Your Business and Energy Efficiency tabs to make essential content easier to find. We brought the ScottishPower e-shop to the fore and categorised products according to their target customers. Your Bill Explained and Accessing Your Account video guides acted as additional user tools.

Since the main website launched in 2010, we continue to work with ScottishPower on new design projects and product campaigns along with digital marketing, PPC, search and social media marketing strategies.

In 2009 we spearheaded the development of ScottishPower's Green Energy and Energy People Trusts projects encompassing, design, UX, development and deployment strategies.

The ScottishPower Green Energy Trust awards funds to community-based renewable projects and we were involved with redesigning the application process and managing the back-end to encourage the uptake of renewable energy forms.

SME Quote and Apply was another project fine-tuning the application process and running a simultaneous PPC campaign on Facebook and on key targeted websites.

Our social media work for ScottishPower extends to a blogger outreach campaign, promoting the launch of Unifi; an application that lets users control their home appliances via their smartphone. We built the promotional site, encouraged users to engage with the brand via Twitter and prompted them to tweet their most cringe-worthy, appliance-related moments for a chance to win an iPhone 4.
