Scottish Enterprise

The start of the journey.

After winning a competitive pitch, we were charged with transforming the Scottish Enterprise website, along with the organisation's sister sites, TalentScotland and Scottish Development International.

Where did Scottish Enterprise want to go?
At the core of the SE project was the need to create a joined-up strategy between TS, the talent attraction arm of SE, and SDI; a branch of the organisation that offers help and advice for companies wanting to invest in Scotland, and Scottish companies wanting to expand overseas.

Scottish Enterprise wanted to take advantage of content-sharing opportunities but they also wanted to better broadcast their services online and make it easier for their customers to access these online.

How we got there together.
First off, we scoped each of the sites, drilled down and pulled out copy from each page to create a comprehensive content audit. All three sites were fully audited to best determine the relevance and value of their content. Copy was rated according to calls to action, how up-to-date information was and whether the point of a page was easily determined. Information from this was then used to structure the new website.

We worked with Scottish Enterprise and external agencies to provide a consistent Style Guide for the three, very closely connected, websites. This strategy not only ensured consistency across each of the sites but also acted as a messaging guideline for all future content uploads.

Design-wise we prioritised Scottish Enterprise's key services, 'What We Do', 'Grow Your Business' and 'Fund Your Business' through targeted navigation, highlighted key business sectors and emphasised ways for visitors to invest in Scotland.

A Sitecore Content Management System underpins all of the Scottish Enterprise sites and while providing a secure platform, Sitecore also allows content to be uploaded quickly and campaigns to be syndicated swiftly across Scottish Enterprise's different departments.
