Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games

The start of the journey.

The current site for the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games was commissioned in late 2009 and launched in March 2010 and the priority with the project was to create a site that would be able to grow organically to accommodate dynamic content in the run up to the Games in four years' time.

Where did Glasgow 2014 want to go?
The Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games website was key to showcasing the work taking place in the run up to the Opening Ceremony in September 2014 and had to include information on key contract wins, Games recruitment, volunteer opportunities and a running commentary of venue build work taking place.

We applied the Glasgow 2014 brand guidelines on time, data and measurement to every part of the site; from masthead copy and data, through to the bold primary colours peppered throughout the site.

How we got there together.
Embedded features like the Glasgow 2014 Timeline and the Games Channel were designed to show how Glasgow was preparing for the Games, each telling the story of how the city would be transformed over the coming months and years.

The Glasgow 2014 Games Channel showed key video footage of the day Glasgow won the bid and the story behind the brand.

After launching the main site, we've launched a series of spin off microsites to promote key milestones in the journey to the Glasgow 2014 Opening Ceremony.

The Delhi Handover website was launched to mark the official handover of the XX Commonwealth Games to the city of Glasgow, Sport Your Trainers, markedĀ  an annual, Scottish-wide, celebration of Glasgow 2014, and 3 Years To Go celebrated three years to go until the Games and promoted a number of tie-in sporting events in Glasgow's Merchant City area.

We continue to work with the team at Glasgow 2014, building content on the site, as well as strategising their numerous social media, Facebook and digital marketing campaigns.
