Dog Digital is pleased to announce the recent launch of Glasgow School of Art's (GSA) new Living Archive website, on 15th September 2010.
Living Archive forms part of the school’s centenary website and is the latest development in a host of celebrations marking the centenary year of the school’s Mackintosh Building.
Digital communications agency Dog Digital, has enjoyed a successful working relationship with Glasgow School of Art that goes as far back as 2006 and the company is a continual sponsor of GSA's yearly Graduate Degree Show.
Living Archive shares the heritage of the Mackintosh Building, and the wider history of Glasgow School of Art, to an online audience. Images, video footage depicting the experiences of GSA alumni and students will now be held online to act as a permanent historical record of life at the world-famous school.
Visitors to the Living Archive site will be able access previously unavailable images and video footage through an interactive Flash timeline by choosing which decade they wish to view. As the site develops, the dynamic gallery and image archive will be continually updated with content. The site is built using HTML to allow content, once approved, to be uploaded easily by members of the GSA team.
Dog Digital's links with the school extend to the sponsorship of a Post Graduate degree course at the Glasgow School of Art's Digital Design Studio, which it has been doing so since 2006. The course is primarily concerned with 3D visualisation and interaction through academic research and commercial activities.
As the centenary year draws to a close, the Living Archive will continue to spread the legacy of the school in what was an important year in its history, act as a resource on student life at GSA, and showcase the school's talents to potential students.
Seona Reid, Director, Glasgow School of Art: "Dog Digital has worked tirelessly to produce the GSA's groundbreaking Living Archive site and we really appreciate their continuing support. Their web development and digital expertise compliments much of the work we do at GSA and we look forward to seeing the Living Archive develop as alumni and friends of the school contribute their memories and images to this lasting legacy."
Gerard McCusker, Managing Director, Dog Digital: "Dog Digital is obviously delighted to be involved in communicating the heritage of such a world-renowned centre for art and design like Glasgow School of Art. We look forward to seeing the content expand and develop over the coming years and bring alumni and friends of the school together, from every corner of the world."
